The Capstone Fair

The Capstone Fair was a great opportunity to show off my project and to see what everyone else had been working on all semester. Below are some pictures of my project at the capstone fair.

The New Orleans Google Cardboard + Phone + Headphones + Story. The phone inside this Cardboard was an iPhone 5C, an older phone that could barely handle VR. During test runs, after just one playthrough of the video, the phone went from 100% battery to 10%, so I taped a portable charger on top and the phone lasted the entire duration of the fair!

One of my classmates trying the Vermont Cardboard. "It reminds me of home," she said.

Above are the Vermont and Oia Cardboards right after two people finished using them. Krista Caballero, director of DCC, commented that my set-up was aesthetically pleasing and lent itself to ease of use. The pictures on the front let users know which location they'll be visiting if they put on a certain VR headset. The QR codes on top of each headset link to the videos on YouTube so people can experience my project on their phone. They also act as a contingency plan: if one of my phones stopped working, a user could scan the QR code, put their phone in one of the Google Cardboards and still experience the project.

The full setup. I was happy I was able to move to a full table so I could show all three Cardboards in a row.
